About Zamcom

The Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM) is a major river basin organisation in Africa. It was established in 2014 as an intergovernmental organisation that brings together eight Riparian States that share the Zambezi River Basin these are Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Latest News

A kick-off meeting was held on the 8th of August 2016 at the ZAMCOM Secretariat in Harare, Zimbabwe. The kickoff meeting introduced the parties, their roles and responsibilities. The meeting successfully established the communication and reporting procedures for the project.

Stakeholder participation in the development of the Strategic Plan of the Zambezi Watercourse is critical in order to ensure ownership and legitimacy of outputs, products and outcomes in the context of sustainable cooperation.

The Zambezi Basin Stakeholders Forum was held in Lusaka from 25 to 26 September 2017.
